Default video download settings

You can customize your videos and video information each time. But if you regularly upload similar videos, you can set default settings. For example, set default description, tags, etc. Go to Settings and Video Upload in Creator Studio and enter default data.

Preview video

After uploading a video, YouTube itself special database will offer preview options. In fact, this is a selection of screenshots from the video, which can be slightly edited using built-in tools. But to stand out and make your video more eye-catching against the background of others, we recommend preparing a preview separately. A creative and capacious cover will help in promotion.

YouTube video preview options:

special database

  • Resolution – 1280×720 pixels
  • Format – JPG, GIF or PNG
  • Size – up to 2MB
  • Aspect ratio – 16:9 (optimal)

To create creative previews, it would be wise to hire a good designer.

Subtitles

Subtitles not only help foreigners bot chirijikal tèlman chè an plas an premy watch your content. They have another, no less important task. Subtitles help video hosting algorithms better understand what the video is about.

YouTube has automatic subtitle generation, but it is far from perfect. So if you have the time and opportunity, it is better to add subtitles manually.

Tags

Tags are essentially keywords that help aero leads promote your video and at the same time help YouTube better understand what your video is about. You can search for suitable tags in Google Trends, through search suggestions, and also using special services such as TubeBuddy Tags or its analogues.

There are not many requirements for tags:

  • relevance to the topic of your channel and a specific video;
  • correct sorting – main tags at the beginning;
  • quantity up to 20 pieces, less is possible.

As mentioned above, you can set a default list of tags so you don’t have to re-enter them each time. But this is only relevant if your videos are more or less the same type.

Playlists

Playlists on YouTube are a very convenient and useful tool that can help you systematize and structure the content on your channel, simplify navigation, and even improve ranking. Also, thanks to playlists, the user can immediately go to videos on the same topic or watch your videos in the correct chronological order. Very convenient if you, for example, publish educational materials.

When viewing a video included in a playlist, the user will see a list of other videos from the same playlist to the right of the player – convenient.

Categories

In the “Video Details” section, you can specify its category. More than ten categories are available: “Animals”, “People and Blogs”, “Music”, “Games”, etc.

It is not necessary to select a category, but it is advisable. This will help YouTube better understand what content you publish, and users will find it easier. Again, the video hosting recommendation system is largely based on categories. If a person watches a lot of videos about travel, then recommendations for him will be from the “Travel” category.

Comments

Here in the settings you can choose how the audience will be able to interact with your content: whether they will be able to leave comments, whether they will appear immediately after publication or only after your approval, whether the number of likes under the video will be shown.

It’s up to you to decide which settings to choose here. But we still recommend leaving the audience the opportunity to leave feedback. It is useful primarily for you. Viewers’ feedback will help you better understand what content your audience likes and what content is best to completely avoid. In any case, you can later change the settings for any individual video. For example, if you collect too many dislikes or negative comments. This practice is quite common on YouTube.

Possibility to embed videos

You can allow or prohibit embedding your video on third-party sites. If you uncheck the box, then only a link to the video will be shared on other resources, and the video itself will not be played on the site.

We recommend leaving the option to embed videos. This is useful for promotion and increasing views. For example, a website visitor is more likely to watch a video directly on the page than to go from the site to YouTube to watch it. Fewer unnecessary actions. On the other hand, going to your channel can encourage the user to subscribe to your channel and watch other videos in the playlist.
