The Joint Selection System for State Universities Entrance or abbreviated as SBMPTN is one of the selection pathways for state universities in Indonesia which is held annually.
However, in 2021, the Indonesian government has issued a new regulation that replaces SBMPTN, namely the Joint National Selection System for State Universities Entrance or SNBT.

What is SNBT?
The National Test-Based Selection or SNBT is a state university entrance selection system in Indonesia which is held simultaneously by several universities every academic year. SNBT is a form of state university entrance selection that uses tests as the basis for its assessment.
The National Test-Based Selection aims to encourage participants to be more focused and serious in studying and to improve participants’ abilities and knowledge in the fields being tested. In addition, this selection also allows universities to assess participants’ ability to cope with pressure and difficult exam situations.
SNBT itself consists of an academic
potential test consisting of three parts, namely verbal, numerical, and reasoning abilities. Each part consists of 30 questions with a processing time of 120 minutes. The purpose of SNBT is to assess the academic abilities of prospective students and measure the ability of prospective students to think and analyze information.
SNBT is implemented by the Higher Education Entrance Test Institute (LTMPT) which was formed by the Ministry of Education and Culture buy telemarketing data (Kemendikbud). The results of the SNBT selection are announced by LTMPT through its official website.

SNBT Implementation Scheme or Stages
The following are the stages of SNBT implementation:
Register for an SNBT account using NISN, NPSN, and date of birth on the SNPMB Portal page
After logging in to your SNPMB account, you can select the data verification and validation menu
Fill in all the requested biodata information
Upload a recent color photo
Choose a study program at the university you are aiming for, up to two study programs at one university.

Upload a portfolio (specifically for applicants for the Arts and Sports study program)
Choose a UTBK PTN center to take the exam
Make a payment of IDR 200,000 and receive a UTBK fee payment slip
Print the UTBK-SNBT participant card
SNBT Registration Requirements
SNBT registration requirements no matter what industry you are in may vary. Each year depending on the policies implemented by the SNBT committee. However, generally the requirements needed to register for SNBT are as follows:
Have an SNPMB account
Did not pass the 2023 SNBP or SNMPTN pathways in 2021 and 2022
