While, on the one hand, some professions are losing ground, on the other, millions of new opportunities are emerging in technology – and encountering a shortage of qualified professionals to fill them.

This deficiency is due to the lack of technical and behavioral skills that the digital world requires.and demands a movement called reskilling, which can be conceptualized as the practice of professional requalification, applied mainly in situations of career migration. Networking is also a key part of this process, as it is one of the most used tools for professionals who want to make a career transitio.
How reskilling and networking helped make this transition
My career began in the Audiovisual industry. I took a technical course in Audio and Video Production and started working in this area. As time went by, I began to understand this market better and realized that there was no prospect of the growth and stability that I wanted for my life within it, and I started to think about new career possibilities.
Before finishing my technical course, I met my girlfriend, who was a UX designer , and she introduced me to this profession. Since the technology field had always caught my attention, I became very interested in learning more. I started studying UX-related topics on my own in my spare time. I read a lot, took independent courses, retrained myself as best I could, and so I started thinking about changing fields.
Even started a degree in Graphic Design
A grasp of the basic concepts. In addition to trying to retrain myself professionally through courses, I used LinkedIn a lot during this period, and the networking I was able to build through connections with strategic people on the network was also decisive in my transition process.
It was through hearing a lot of people talk about it on LinkedIn that I found out about Tera’s UX Design course. At that moment, everything changed and I decided to drop out of my Graphic Design degree and enroll in the course for real. I usually say that itwas a “leap of faith” because my internship contract had ended and I was unemployed, so I jumped head first into the course and then, yes, I started to study for real and dedicate myself fully to my transition.

At that moment, I felt discouraged and had doubts about whether I had really made the right decision and the best choice for my career. I started to doubt my abilities and question whether the UX field was really as promising as everyone said it was or whether I really had a knack for it.
